Managed Long-Term Service and Supports (MLTSS) Workgroup

A new OASAC workgroup has been developed: the Managed Long-Term Service and Supports (MLTSS) Workgroup. The MLTSS workgroup is charged with several important tasks:

1. Research and report in a policy brief the experiences of identified states that have implemented Medicaid Managed Care, detailing key questions and issues that are applicable for Illinois, including how other State Units on Aging serving persons with disabilities have been involved in Medicaid MLTSS initiatives.
2. Provide actionable recommendations to the Departments on Aging, Healthcare and Family Services, Public Health and Human Services pertaining to the transition to a Medicaid managed care system. Recommendations will be targeted to ensuring consumer protections and quality assurances in managed care initiatives that include long-term services and supports serving the older adult population.
3. Reprioritize the Older Adult Services Advisory Committee's nine existing goals to incorporate needed objectives related to managed care.
