The Illinois Department on Aging consults with various advisory groups to gain a clear understanding of the issues and needs of older Illinoisans.

Community Care Program Advisory Committee (CCPAC)
CCPAC is a group of professionals committed to the delivery of high quality home and community-based services to older adults.

Fatality Review Team Advisory Council

The oversight body for established Fatality Review Teams that are committed to preventing abuse, neglect and exploitation of at-risk adults in the community.

Illinois Commission on LGBTQ Aging
Public Act 102-0885 created the Illinois Commission on LGBTQ Aging to investigate, analyze, and study the health, housing, financial, psychosocial, home-and-community-based services, assisted living, and long-term care needs of LGBTQ older adults and their caregivers.

Illinois Council on Aging
The Illinois Act on Aging mandates there be a state-level advisory body to concern itself with promoting the well-being of older adults in Illinois. The Illinois Council on Aging is that advisory body. With 23 citizen members appointed by the Governor and eight legislative members appointed by General Assembly leadership, the 31-member Council advocates on behalf of older Illinoisans to the Department on Aging, the General Assembly and the Governor.

Illinois Long-Term Care Council
The Illinois Act on Aging mandates there be a state-level advisory body to create a forum on systemic issues affecting long-term care for stakeholders, family representatives and the general public.

Illinois Senior Housing Residents' Advisory Council
Established under Public Act 102-0986, the purpose of the Senior Housing Residents' Advisory Council is to create a space and opportunity for older Illinoisans to connect with each other and formulate ideas on how the State can improve the quality of life for its older residents, particularly those residing in long-term care facilities and other congregate settings. 

Older Adult Services Advisory Committee
The Older Adult Services Act ( P.A. 093-1031) is legislation that supports older adults who wish to stay in their homes by restructuring the delivery of services to include home-based services as well as institutional care.
